Counter in Digital Logic and Design
A group of sequential logic circuits known as counters add up a string of input pulses, which may be regular or irregular in character. Most digital logic applications require the counter, which is a fundamental component. In addition to many other devices, it is employed in signal generators, control circuits, and timing units.
• A counter is a device that keeps track of (and occasionally shows) the frequency of a specific event or process, frequently in relation to a clock.
• Numerous flip-flops connected in cascade often make up a counter circuit.
